Dedicated to the memory of Sue

Sue Miller passed away on Sunday 9th October 2016.

A wonderful woman who was taken too early, she leaves behind her husband Keith and her two daughters, Sian and Alisha.

Sue fought hard following her diagnosis of an aggressive brain tumour in October 2015, undergoing multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She received excellent treatment from both the Berkshire Cancer Centre and the Neuroscience Department at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

The last few week's of Sue's life were spent at the Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading. These great facilities and the exceptional staff who work there made this difficult time a little more bearable for both Sue and her family. The Sue Ryder nurses treated Sue with respect throughout her time there and ensured she was as comfortable as possible in her final days. The staff and volunteers at the hospice also provided much needed support to Sue's immediate family and we will never be able to thank them enough for this.

The donations collected here and those collected on the day of Sue's funeral will go to the Duchess of Kent Hospice to ensure future patients and their families receive the same incredible care Sue did.

Keith, Sian and Alisha would like to thank everyone who has supported them over the last year during Sue's treatment and in recent days since her passing. Your kind words of sympathy and heartfelt messages are of great comfort.

Thoughts

People in life come and go Someone says goodbye, another says hello Faces change with passing years Making hopes, memories, smiles and tears And as much as these farewells may kill The “nice to meet you”s are worth the thrill And for each of those who drift away There is someone new to sit and stay And although they’re only temporary The bonds I form are what make “me” me And each bond will have a lasting effect And to my heart that person will always connect My point of course is this indeed Relationships are the food that feed Our hearts when we have little hope They help us grow and learn and cope So a passing visit I will call this Before you leave and I start to miss About you, everything I ever knew My Godmother, friend and Auntie Sue

We are so honoured to have been able to call Sue our friend, she was such a huge part of Jon and I's lives for the past 30 years. She was also such a great mentor, confidante and 'aunt' for our daughters for the past 26 years or so. Sue was the definition of a true friend, she was so kind and would do anything for anyone, a special person.Things will never be the same again, but we have such great happy memories to hold on to; evenings, holidays and family occasions. "As long as there's memories they live on in our hearts to stay."
